the arjoe love is doing a titanic

Extravagant Challenge/Skip Beat

CAST

Jerry Yan Cheng Xu 言承旭
Ariel Lin Yi Chen 林依晨
Joe Cheng Yuan Chang 鄭元暢

This drama should never see the light of day. Why, you ask?

1) JOE CHENG CAN NOT BE ARIEL LIN’S OTHER GUY. THE FORCES OF THE UNIVERSE WILL NOT ACCEPT THIS. ANARCHY WILL REIGN, I TELL YOU. AAAAAAANARRRRRCHYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

2) Jerry’s being a jerk. –> Proceed to http://asianfanatics.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=530365

He wants more screentime. Even though he’s already the main guy. He has no right to be a jerk. Jashik.

WOWS. According to DramaWiki, original choice was Ariel, then it was decided that Barbie was better, then Barbie backed out because of schedule conflicts, so then it was given back to Ariel.
OH. MY. GOD. Excuse me while I grab a leprechaun and dance in glee.

Harman Baweja – First Glance

“Milo Na Milo” from Love Story 2050 has grown on me, but THAT NEW GUY (Harman Baweja, apparently) DANCING to it really bothers me. I may end up falling in love with him in the future, but, as of right now, his dancing makes him look like a Hrithik Roshan wannabe. And he looks like a mixture of Hrithik Roshan and Emraan Hashmi, which isn’t all that great of a mixture:

…okay, so his dancing’s not THAT bad, but it’s much stiffer than Hrithik. And looks so…………………………………………………. meh.

Then again, because of my over-protectiveness of Shahrukh, I totally dissed Hrithik for his looks/dancing at the awards after his debut, Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai (for which he took Best Actor)… THAT lasted until the first second of KNPH, when Hrithik was playing his guitar in his sexy leather jacket.

But STILL. This Baweja guy is no Hrithik…!

…even though I just compared one of Hrithik’s better pictures with one of Harman’s worse ones. =] Not biased at all.

Upcoming Releases

(Yes! More of them! Although I’m not sure if they beat Sheeree’s Superstar Express post though…)

Qi Lin Guan Zhi Lian / Qilin House of Love (Tw)
Release: 2008
Photobucket
Megan Lai plays an outspoken career woman who is in love with her college senior Abe Tsuyoshi, who happens to be married to Chen Yi Rong. Instead of becoming rivals, the two women become friends.

Megan Lai finally gets to be a Main Girl! It’s about time; she’s played the Other Girl way too long (in Silence and Mars). And Abe Tsuyoshi played Akira in Hana Yori Dango (J)! So exciting. The show also has Dean Fujioka, who I loved in Corner With Love. Interesting that both the guys are Japanese though; I wonder if that has anything to do with the plot? That totally adds to the excitement.

Read on for more upcoming drama releases info (Korean and Taiwanese), including The Bad Campus Belle, The World That They Live In, When It’s At Night, The Lawyers of The Great Republic Korea, Strongest Chil-Woo, Dae Mul and The Painter of the Wind

Bollywood movies / Upcoming releases

After much consideration, (I think) Sheeree and I decided to add Bollywood movie reviews to this blog… just to prove that India IS in the continent of Asia. =]

Since it’s virtually impossible to rate ALL the Bollywood movies we’ve seen since we were born, we will be focusing on newer releases (with some all-time favorites).

On that note, here are some upcoming Bollywood releases that we’ve been looking forward to:

Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic
Release: June 27, 2008

Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee generally gaurantee a decent entertainer. =] Plus, I liked Saif’s geeky/stern look in the movie. I’ve heard that some people were turned off by the “Mary Poppins” look of it, but I think it still has great potential. (Plus, I don’t remember much of Mary Poppins anyway.)

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na
Release: July 4, 2008 (my birthday! =D)

Aamir Khan productions, nowadays, are, I think, more trustworthy than a Saif/Rani starrer, so I’m pretty excited for this one. Even though I’m afraid the girl might be annoying, Imraan Khan (Aamir’s nephew!) seems to have potential.

Love Story 2050
Release: July 4, 2008 (again!)

Admittedly, I’m not really all that pumped for this one, but it also has potential. Although I’m not sure if Priyanka can carry the movie with a newcomer, and it looks like it’s trying to be too Westernized, which may cause excessive cheesiness, it’s a big-budget movie, so it can’t be too bad. It may even be great, actually, even though I’m just not excited yet.

PS: I downloaded the soundtracks for all three of these movies, and they all aren’t that amazing at first glance. Nothing too catchy, but they all have one or two songs that are pretty decent. They’ll probably get a ton better after actually watching the movies too, as usual.

Upcoming Dramas

Whilst looking through some news articles / DramaWiki pages, I noticed a couple upcoming dramas that I’m pretty excited for…

Hanazakari no Kimitachi e Special (J)
Release: ?
Photobucket
…I loved the show and, although it had a lot more closure than the Taiwanese version, more Sano/Mizuki couple development is always welcome. Plus, hopefully, Nakatsu will get a little more (well-deserved) action.

Maou (J)
Release: July, 2008
Photobucket
This drama is a remake of the popular suspense drama The Devil that was aired in Korea last year. Ohno Satoshi will be playing the role of a two-faced lawyer, one of which is a kind hearted soul and the other who is plotting revenge, using his brilliant mind, on the person who killed his relative. On the other hand, Ikuta Toma will play the double lead role of the man, who has become a detective due to his dark past, who is pursuing the mysterious series of murders and fighting against the devil (maou).

Another Ikuta Toma drama! I actually started the Korean version of The Devil, and it seemed pretty interesting (I should get back to it sometime, actually), so the Japanese version should be pretty good too, hopefully.

Lan Qui Huo / Basketball Fire (Tw)
Release: July 28, 2008
Photobucket
Jerry Yan, Wu Chun and Alan Luo… I don’t think I need to say more. =P It’s a romantic sports drama; sounds fairly typical in the Taiwanese drama world, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be good, especially with that cast.

Pi Zi Ying Xiong / Black and White (Tw)
Release: 2008
Photobucket
Pi Zi and Ying Xiong are two cops who are as different as day and night. One does nothing except for drinking coffee and living a luxurious lifestyle while waiting for information from dubious sources to crack his cases. Another believes law and justice is the pillar of society and is constantly on the street catching criminals… a little overzealously for his superior’s liking. When a case brought these two top crime solvers together, sparks flied and a little light peeked into this dark city where the nation’s President is on friendly terms with the local mafia and twins kill people while drinking milkshake.

Sounds fairly interesting. And has Vic Zhou in it. =]

Code Blue (J)
Release: July 03, 2008
Photobucket
Yamapi. Medical Drama. Involves helicopters. Excited yet?
